Background/Aim. Chronic microbial infections of the root canal are a common issue. This process very often causes an immune reaction in system that results forming chronic periapical lesions (PLs). The aim this study was to determine quantitative expression bacterial heat shock protein (HSP), chaperonin 60 (cpn60), and pro-inflammatory anti-inflammatory cytokines tissue obtained from individuals with PLs if there is correlation between HSP these cytokines.
